For the smaller wedding, finding somewhere to celebrate your first meal together as a married couple can prove a challenge. Many venues are, understandably, geared to larger receptions so couples with smaller guest lists may feel side-lined or, even worse, discouraged. As we value and welcome small weddings at Friars Court, we are reviving the shorter, more traditional, wedding breakfast reception: a concept that is ideally suited to the smaller wedding.
The Garden Room, a relatively recent addition to the main house, has large picture windows overlooking the gardens and a glazed roof apex both of which ensure the room is flooded with natural light even on the dullest of days. The neutral, yet warm, décor was intentionally chosen to complement and enhance any added colour scheme.
Capacity for the Garden Room is a maximum of 80 people for a drinks reception and around 40 for a sit-down wedding breakfast. Included in the hire are rectangular tables and natural beech wood ballroom chairs with the option to hire in round tables or different chairs. The Garden Room could be ideal for couples who really wish to put their personal stamp on their wedding as hire comes with the rare opportunity of time and access (plus an on-site designer/ stylist) before the wedding to add those all-important personal finishing touches.
