The Venue

Friars Court isn't an hotel but the privately-owned home of the Willmer family. In addition to being a popular wedding venue Friars Court is also a working farm of 650 acres of arable and grass-land with a small herd of beef cattle.

Friars Court has eight areas licensed for civil ceremonies including three within the four acres of moated grounds around the mid-17th century house.

Receptions are usually held either in a marquee or the large Cotswold stone barn. The barn is still an agricultural building; it has been 'improved' but has yet to be fully-converted so with its large doorways and vaulted roof evenings can sometimes be a little chilly so do bear that in mind. The Old Laundry (next to the Garden Room and loos) has a wood-burning stove so on cooler evenings the stove’s often lit making the Old Laundry a lovely place to sit, relax and catch up.

Whilst we welcome previews, as Friars Court is a privately-owned house we do request that any visits are made by appointment.
