The Venue

Friars Court is a privately-owned house rather than an hotel. For guests hoping to grab a coffee or a quick bite to eat before the wedding we'd suggest trying The Tavern, The Double Red Duke or Blake's Kitchen all three of which are minutes drive away in the centre of Clanfield.

The main summer car park, just beyond the grounds of the house, is clearly signed all the way up the drive; for guests with mobility issues parking is usually in the main yard in front of the Stone Barn but for more specific needs please get in touch with us before the event and we'll aim to help as much as possible.

Friars Court has eight areas licensed for civil ceremonies including three within the four acres of moated grounds around the house. If you are attending a ceremony in the Stone Barn do bear in mind that, in common with most large stone buildings, the interior can be a little chilly especially in the earlier and latter parts of the year. All public areas of the house and almost all of the grounds are fully-accessible to wheelchair users just do bear in mind that the forecourt directly in front of the main house is shingle. Alongside the loos for ladies and gentlemen there is a spacious loo specifically for wheelchair users which has a baby-changing table.

Whilst we welcome previews, as Friars Court is a privately-owned house we do request that any visits are made by appointment.
