Marquee Receptions
The 2020 season will be our final one for hosting receptions: from 2021 onwards we will purely host ceremonies
As a more romantic alternative to the barn, Friars Court has several sites suitable for marquees, the most popular location places the marquee on the old tennis court in the middle of the grounds overlooking the moat. This site has enough space for a clear-span marquee to seat up to 150 guests; marquees may also be erected behind the house or on the main lawn at the front of the house. The Garden Room may then be used as an additional reception space: for a drinks reception; as somewhere to display the wedding cake and presents; for after-dinner tea and coffee; as a casino; as somewhere to serve a buffet or, simply, as a quieter seating area.
Marquees come in a variety of types and sizes and can be styled according to each couple’s taste and budget. And what is more, at Friars Court couples are free to choose the style of marquee which best suits them.
